 Shelynda Burney
Treasurer, AAREP DC Shelynda Burney is a Real Estate Development Officer at Community Preservation and Development Corporation (CPDC), a not for profit organization that is a leader in the affordable housing industry. Ms. Burney coordinates and implements all aspects of acquisitions and redevelopment real estate projects undertaken by CPDC. In this capacity, she manages the end-to-end project development process, from feasibility analysis through construction completion. In projects ranging in scale from 25 units to 448 units, she has managed acquisition and rehabilitation budgets totaling more than $50 million dollars.
Ms. Burney has worked in the affordable housing finance industry for nearly a decade. Prior to obtaining an MBA, she held the positions of Assistant Vice President for Bank of Americas Community Development Banking Group and Tax Credit Underwriter for the Georgia State Department of Community Affairs.
She is an active member of the following organizations: Urban Land Institute-Young Leaders Group (ULI-YLG), African American Real Estate Professionals (AAREP), National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), DC Net Impact Professional Chapter, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Ms. Burney received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia.
